Baan Tepa
Bangkok, Thailand
- Accolades
- No.44 Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2025
A hybrid space with rich history, consider Baan Tepa a sort of culinary museum, housing an open-kitchen dining room, chef's table, a small garden and workshop. At the helm is chef Chudaree 'Tam' Debhakam, winner of Asia's Best Female Chef Award 2025. A previous Top Chef Thailand winner, she was also sous chef at Blue Hill at Stone Barns under Dan Barber. Following a degree in food science and time on the pass, she travelled Thailand, meeting with farmers to add intricacy to her already rich knowledge. Tepa Garden – a city plot practicing rotational farming focused on herbs, spices and heritage vegetables – followed. Today, it anchors food served in the original converted house, with additional renovations completed in 2026 adding a bar space, counter seating and an expanded garden area. Innovative interpretations of regional cooking act like an education over seven courses and cleverly harnesses flavours unique to Thai plants. A signature course features giant river prawns harvested near Bangkok, gently cooked and finished with prawn oil, chamuang – a local herb – purée and marmalade.
