The Cambridge Public House

Paris

English pub soul meets Parisian cocktail mastery

Combining the convivial charm of a traditional English pub with the meticulous precision of a modern cocktail bar, The Cambridge Public House has established itself as one of Paris's most beloved drinking destinations. Founded in 2019 by acclaimed bartender Hyacinthe Lescoët and Hugo Gallou, this hybrid venue in the Marais district offers a warm, unpretentious atmosphere where guests can feel equally comfortable ordering a pint of craft beer, a glass of natural wine, or a world-class cocktail. The kitchen bridges British comfort food with French culinary craft, serving bar snacks like homemade meat and vegetarian pies alongside sausage rolls made with French ingredients.

This cross-channel duality shines through in the beverage programme. The Cambridge takes immense pride in pouring a flawless pint of Guinness and offering an ever-changing reinterpretation of the classic Pimm's Cup – currently made with rosé wine, grapefruit and French pink pepper gin. Other signature creations pay homage to Parisian life, such as the long-standing menu staple Cigarette After Sex. The drinks list changes constantly, rewarding return visits.

Driven by the belief that pubs should serve as pillars of their local community, The Cambridge also strives to lead the hospitality industry in sustainability and social responsibility. The venue was the first bar in the world to achieve B Corp certification, reflecting its commitment to ethical sourcing, fair labour and minimal environmental impact. With its comforting bites, exceptional drinks, and community focus, The Cambridge is a refuge for regulars, visiting bartenders and all cocktail-loving travellers.
