Perched between the Atlantic and Lion's Head, you'll find this cosy, contemporary restaurant within the historic curving foundations of an old 1700s guardhouse – a national monument given a fresh lease of life as one of Cape Town's finest dining destinations. The dishes that emerge from executive chef Ryan Cole and head chef Nina du Toit's kitchen are a masterclass in restrained deliciousness, playing out over a hyper-seasonal 10-course chef's menu (a shorter menu is available at lunch) . The astonishing views from the dining room may grab guests' attention initially, but once plates like line fish, prenia (a salt-tolerant coastal succulent) and confit leek; or ox tongue and cheek, African pepper and bay start hitting the table, all eyes will be on the food.
