Hôtel de Crillon

Paris

A chic home away from home in a landmark location

Give me the lowdown: In a city renowned for luxury, standing out from the crowd is no easy feat. Overlooking the Place de la Concorde, Hôtel de Crillon is a palace hotel suffused with sophistication, merging all the historic architectural detail of a landmark property with a quietly confident display of interior design grandeur. Louis IV commissioned the structure's build in 1758 and it served as the Count de Crillon's residence until 1909 when it opened as a hotel. Now part of the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts stable, it relaunched in its current guise in 2017 following a four-year renovation under the watchful eyes of Lebanese architect Aline Asmar d'Amman.

What are the rooms like? The 78 rooms, 36 suites and 10 signature suites evoke a sense of timeless elegance with all the charm you'd expect of a Parisian residence. The perfect balance of modern heritage, fine antiques and eye-catching objets d'art, each suite is a haven of calming neutral colourways, giant beds, marble bathrooms and parquet flooring. The sweeping penthouse-style Les Grands Appartements was designed by fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, with opulent touchpoints such as dramatic chandeliers, carved doors and a lavishly draped beds. Meanwhile, the Suite Jardin is a more modern affair with clean lines, contemporary art and bolts of colour. Suite Louis XV offers views of the Eiffel Tower and Grand Palais.

Wining and dining: From Michelin stars and new-wave brassiere fare to a top-notch patisserie courtesy of pastry chef du jour Matthieu Carlin, this slick city pad has all bases covered. In June 2026, chef Alan Taudon was appointed executive chef of Hôtel de Crillon, overseeing all of the dining venues. These include L'Herbier Secret, which promises an intimate experience prioritising plant-based dishes and coastal inspirations; Nonos and Comestibles, a fresh take on the French grill from chef Paul Pairet; and La Cave, the hotel's luxurious private dining room. At Bar Les Ambassadeurs, creative cocktails are served beneath a heritage-listed painted ceiling, a charming blend of the old and the new.

A note on the spa: A visually arresting swimming pool – featuring gold accents and surrounded by comfy armchairs and loungers – completes the wellbeing space. Alongside massages and facials – using EviDenS de Beauté and Maison Caulières products – holistic and innovative treatments offered include jet peels and naturopathy sessions.

Anything else? Two inner courtyards make the ideal spot for basking on warm days, but for those looking to adventure out, a Clefs d'Or concierge service is on hand to help with insider's tips and bookings to help curate an authentic city break. As well as a packing and unpacking service, guests also have access to a 24-hour personal butler.
