Behind a mustard-yellow awning and a long, wood-framed shopfront, Bar Gabriel's warmly lit communal drinking den awaits, complete with friendly staff and low wooden tables paired with matching chairs. The food and drink menus are playful and similarly international in character. The fennel- and absinthe-spiked Nazar arrives in an evil eye-shaped glass, while the Künefe nods to the classic dessert with pistachios and pistachio vodka. Soak it up with light bites including tempura prawns, palm-sized beef sandos and truffle fries. Or take your drink outside to the pavement, where bench seating and small round tables sit beneath the warm glow of Georgian-style lamps. Bar Gabriel is walk-ins only, so arrive early – doors open at 3pm on weekends.
