Berlin, Germany

In true Berlin fashion, this dimly lit destination restaurant does things its own way. It describes itself as non-conformist cuisine inspired by dessert and patisserie: a truly unique concept that has seen The World's Best Pastry Chef 2022 René Frank apply dessert techniques to mostly savoury ingredients. The result is a 15-course tasting menu that avoids refined sugar and processing, instead using ingredients with natural sweetness such as corn, beetroot and carrots, balancing them with umami, salty, sour and bitter notes. The dishes are both beautiful and unusual, an excellent foil to a flight of mini cocktails or a wine cellar that focuses on German pours. The drinks list also has a great selection of sakes. The intentionally minimalist and urban interior design provides a space where you can fully immerse yourself in the menu.
