Lady Bee

Lima

A celebration of Peru’s bountiful pantry

One of the buzziest bars in Latin America, Lady Bee takes drinkers on seasonal liquid tours of Peru through its fruits, spirits and even vegetables. After Alonso Palomino and Gabriela Leon, a bartender and chef duo, opened the tiny Lima-based bar and eatery in 2021, it quickly garnered global recognition for its Peru-facing philosophy and product-driven menus: Lady Bee picked up 2023's Campari One to Watch Award then followed with 2025's Michter's Art of Hospitality Award.

The bar's evolution has been steady, upgrading to a more accommodating space in the trendy Barranco neighbourhood in 2025. The revised edition of the bar is smart and sophisticated, spacious with a hint of space-age curves and snatches of theatrical red lighting. Whether you sit at the centrally situated bar or on one of the cosy armchairs, the bar team takes the time to make conversation about Peru's farmers or geographical diversity. It's a true place for 'serious' drinkers and ideal for sampling Peru's diversity from a highball glass.

Every detail at Lady Bee not only has a story behind it but a sense of purpose. Leon conceived the wooden three-bowl spoon for the Three Sips Martini garnish, while Palomino's Oca Mashua cocktail talks up Peru's 4,000 potato varieties by using an Andean distillate of red oca and mashua. Where possible, there are cheeky nods and winks to the Bombus genus, such as stingless bee honey, the use of pollen in the fennel daiquiri and a delicious bee's knees cocktail.
